Join the Akron Press Club for a special member and prospective member event at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company's Wingfoot Lake Base on Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 841 Wingfoot Lake Road in Suffield.
Go behind the scenes at the 1917-built facility to see and learn about Goodyear's latest airship under construction. Chat with Ed Ogden, Goodyear airship PR specialist and historian, take a walk through the facility's gallery corridor of historic blimp photos dating from 1911, and gather with colleagues for light refreshments.
Admission is free to Akron Press Club members and only $10 for prospective members. Prospective members who join the Akron Press Club during the event can apply their $10 admission fee toward their yearly membership fee: $50/year individual, $40/year retiree and $15/year student. Membership renewals will also be accepted that evening.
BONUS: Membership purchased or renewed at this event covers Sept. 16-Dec. 31, 2015, and all of 2016!
