Cleveland Indians Senior Vice President of Public Affairs Bob DiBiasio will give a State of the Indians update at the Akron Press Club on Tuesday, May 16, at The Duck Club in downtown Akron.
Attendees can come early to watch the 10:35 a.m. Akron RubberDucks baseball game from the Duck Club patio. Lunch will begin at 11:45 a.m. and the program will follow. There will be the opportunity for questions.
Jim Pfander, General Manager and COO of the Akron RubberDucks, will welcome attendees with opening comments. DiBiasio will talk about the Indians 2016 World Series run and what to expect this season.
DiBiasio is entering his 37th season with the Indians. He started in 1979 as assistant public relations director. He became public relations director in 1980, and named vice president of public relations in 1988. He was promoted to his current position in 2011. His lone season way from the Tribe was 1987, when he served as public relations director for the Atlanta Braves.
He serves as the president of Cleveland Indians Charities, is an honorary member of the executive board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland, and the board of the Cleveland Baseball Federation.
Attendees will be entered in a raffle to win a prize following the talk, and everyone who registers for the luncheon will receive two ticket vouchers for any 2017 Akron RubberDucks game.
