Downtown Akron Partnership President Suzie Graham will talk about the changing face of downtown Akron and the role of the Partnership at the Akron Press Club luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 14. There will be an opportunity for questions following the speech.
The Downtown Akron Partnership was founded in 1995 to promote and build a vibrant and valuable downtown. The non-profit organization supports existing community programs and develops new ways to attract people to Downtown Akron.
Graham is an Akron native with a deep affection for her hometown. She has served in her current position as the president and CEO of Downtown Akron Partnership since April 2011. Previously she worked as a civil servant for 18 years including, her most recent role as coordinator of arts and children’s programs for the Office of the Mayor.
She represents downtown locally as a member of the University of Akron’s Safety Task Force, the City of Akron’s Downtown Operations Group, the Arts and Cultural Assessment for Summit County and the Regional Economic Strategy Quality of Place Team.
Graham serves on the Holocaust Commemoration Committee and the Akron Civic Theatre Board of Trustees. She is the chairperson of the Masque of the Red Death. She is a 2012 recipient of the GAR Foundation’s Glass Half Full Award.

The group has a rich heritage of offering newsmakers a forum to discuss issues of the day at Press Club luncheons and speaking events that are open to the public.
