Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Connie Schultz will be the keynote speaker at a League of Women Voters of the Akron Area brunch for women in journalism on Saturday, March 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fairlawn Country Club in Akron.
The Akron Press Club is a co-sponsor of this event.
Schultz won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for commentary for her work at the Cleveland Plain Dealer. She also was a finalist for the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for feature writing. She is a graduate of Kent State University and is married to U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown. Schultz left the Plain Dealer in September 2011. She is a columnist for Creators Syndicate and essayist for Parade magazine.
Reservations are required by March 7. Press Club members are entitled to the member discount price of $25.
