Military historian and award-winning author John C. McManus will discuss the American combat aviation experience during World War II at the Akron Press Club Monday, Nov. 13. In keeping with the military theme, this special event will be held at the MAPS Air Museum. There will be the opportunity for questions following the speech.

John McManus is a professor, author, and military historian. He is an expert on the history of modern American soldiers in combat. His book, “Deadly Sky, The American Combat Airmen In World War II,” chronicles the experiences of America’s fighter pilots and bomber crews.
John is a Curators’ Distinguished Professor of U.S. military history at Missouri University of Science and Technology. He frequently serves as an expert for documentaries. A veteran of many battlefield tours, he has traveled thousands of miles to give lectures on military history.
