The three Democratic candidates for Akron mayor – Janice Davis, Don Plusquellic and Michael Williams – will participate in a debate at the Akron Press Club’s luncheon Monday, August 8, 2011, at the University of Akron’s Student Union. This event is co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters for the Akron Area and the University of Akron’s Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics. A panel of three journalists will question the three candidates. There will be time for responses and rebuttals. Each candidate also will deliver a closing statement.

Time: Check-in begins at 11 a.m. Luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. The debate begins at noon.
Place: Student Union, 302 Buchtel Common, University of Akron campus.
Cost: $15 for Press Club members, $20 for non-members.
