Bliss Institute of Applied Politics on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Quaker Station in Akron. The event will begin at noon, and attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions during the program. Sykes is facing Republican challenger Kevin Coughlin in the November election to represent the 13th Congressional District. The district includes Summit County along with parts of Stark and Portage counties.

About U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes

Emilia Sykes was elected to represent Ohio’s 13th Congressional District. Currently, she serves on the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, with active roles on subcommittees for Water Resources and Environment, Highways and Transit, and Research and Technology.

Before her election to U.S. Congress, Sykes served as a state representative in the Ohio House for eight years, where she played a key role in Democratic leadership, including three years as House Minority Leader. Known for her commitment to her community and advocacy on issues such as transportation, infrastructure, and technology, Sykes is now seeking re-election in a race against Republican challenger Kevin Coughlin.
