Grab your peanuts and Cracker Jacks and join the Akron Press Club on Tuesday, June 3 for a night out at the ballpark!

This special event includes a behind-the-scenes tour of Canal Park, a presentation by RubberDucks President and General Manager Jim Pfander and an exciting match-up between the Akron RubberDucks and the Chesapeake Baysox.

Pfander will address a variety of topics including the state of the RubberDucks organization, changes in Minor League Baseball and exciting goings-on at the ballpark. There will be an opportunity for questions. Attendees can watch the game from the Duck Club following the event. The Duck Club provides state-of-the-art views of the ballpark and includes both indoor and outdoor patio spaces.

Tickets are $55 and include the stadium tour, speech, all-you-can-eat buffet, Duck Club seats for the game and a chance to throw out the first pitch! Those who purchase a ticket are automatically entered into a drawing to win the first pitch opportunity. It will be a spec-“quack”-ular night!

Proceeds from Akron Press Club events fund scholarships for journalism and public relations students. Between the Press Club and the John S. Knight Memorial Scholarship Fund, scholarships of $5,000 were awarded to 10 students in 2024. The Press Club sincerely thanks Summit County, Dr. Aileen Thong and Elizabeth Bartz for their donations to the scholarship fund.
