The annual Akron Press Club book sale will be Saturday, December 10 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Akron General Health & Wellness Center, 4125 Medina Road in Bath. The sale provides a wonderful opportunity to buy new and gently used books, audio books, music CDs and movie DVDs. Most items are priced at $5 or less.
Proceeds from the annual book sale fund scholarships for local journalism, public relations and communications students. More than $300,000 in scholarships has been awarded through the years.
Donations for the book sale are welcome. Anyone who wishes to contribute should contact Ron Syroid at RLSYROID@gmail.com or 330-607-6811. Books may also be dropped off from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday, December 9 at the Wellness Center. (We do not accept encyclopedias or Reader's Digest Condensed books because they do not sell.)

The Akron Press Club was founded in 1971 to promote a free press and serve local journalists and public relations professionals. The group has a rich heritage of offering newsmakers a forum to discuss issues of the day at Press Club luncheons and speaking events that are open to the public. The club also funds scholarships for journalists and public relations students and sponsors annual fundraising and community outreach events.
